the very best for...
Training. Lessons in dance, drama and singing spread over a three hour session once a week.
Shows. Every person who comes to any of our schools performs. We believe experience improves performance more than anything else so we produce as many shows as possible.
Fun. We take theatre seriously but we also believe that we should have a great time doing it.
Education. It's not just the performing world that we will help you with. The training we provide improves all manner of life skills such as self confidence, communication and teamwork. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
Careers. If you want to be a professional performer there is no better place to start. In our previous stage schools we have taught many children who are now working as singers, actors and dancers in holiday camps, on cruise ships, on television and even stars in the West End.
Jack and the Beanstalk
We have lots of exciting projects coming up over the next Stage by Stage year. Some of our students will be picked to perform in the professional pantomime at Shanklin Theatre this Christmas. Following on from our previous hit shows 'Snow White' and 'Cinderella' we will be producing Jack and the Beanstalk this holiday season.
Tickets are already on sale from Shanklin Theatre Box Office [01983 868000] so book early to make sure you get the best seats. The show runs on Sunday 20th and Monday 21st December and then every afternoon from Saturday 26th December to Sunday 3rd January. All performances are at 2:45.
Last year over 20 of our students were picked from all age ranges to be in this show.
We have two Stage by Stage shows before Christmas which all our students will be involved in.
Firstly in October there will be thrills and chills in our Halloween show, 'Nightmare'. A show full of songs and dances about the things that wake you up screaming at the stroke of midnight, (don't worry it won't be too frightening). Then in December we have our Christmas show which will be crammed full of traditional and not so traditional seasonal entertainment.
Dead End Kids
Following on from the very successful premier of the brand new musical 'Dead End Kids' in March 2009, we will be producing an improved and extended version to be in 2010's early summer season. 'Dead End Kids' will run every Tuesday at 8.15 from May 18th through to July 13th. It is the true story of children in World War Two who bravely put out fires during the blitz in London. We will be picking many children from our schools to perform in this show, (Over 70 Stage by Stage pupils appeared in Bugsy Malone in our 2009 season so if you weren't in it last time you might get in this time round).
Epic
This year’s 'kids' show is called Epic. Every year from May through July the Academy get the opportunity to appear in the 'kids' show. This show is performed every Wednesday evening for visiting school parties from the mainland. It is packed full of pop songs, dances and a comical story, this year the 'plot' centres round the antics of the Greek gods. If you’ve never been before it is like nothing you’ll see on the Island, or anywhere else come to think of it, just bring earplugs and a sense of fun and you'll have a night to remember. All students attending the Academy are invited to take part in this riotous show which was performed to over 8,000 people last year.
We have many other exciting projects planned for the coming year including festivals and carnivals which we will keep you updated on.
Come and try Stage by Stage, you won't regret it.
Also this September why not come and see some of your teachers performing in The Best of the West End every Wednesday and Thursday night at 8.15 at Shanklin Theatre. It's a really great show full of all the best songs from the best musicals. Bring your family too and have a great night out.
Register now for any of our schools and we'll look forward to seeing you at the start of our next term.
You won't believe what you can achieve...
